Walpurgis Night

Witch bonfire illustration Inkscape

Today it’s 30th April. Tonight witches from all around the world will gather together on the Brocken mountain (the highest peak of Northern Germany) and celebrate.

Therefore I made a quick remake of my old picture of the witch. There is little progress, isn’t it? 🙂

Prince (work in progress)

Mad Prince illustration GIMP

I eventually bought myself the Wacom drawing tablet I wanted so long and I’m so satisfied. It is much easier to draw lines and paint with that, so I decided to draw my first picture in program GIMP. This is the picture I’ve working on past few days. It’s not finished, but I want to submit it to Illustration Friday before it’s too late. I will definitely finish it later.

I hope you like it. 🙂

Forest Is More Than Wood

Forest Is More Than Wood illustration colour pencils

If I hear people telling about forest and all the words I can hear are “wood”, “income” and “profit”, then I feel sorry for these humans. Is the money all you can think about? There are so much in forest. It is the home for so many animals, birds and bugs as well as home for trees and plants. Forest is the place where you can pick tasty berries and mushrooms and walk for hours without seeing any people. Forest is the best place to relax and enjoy being “alone”. For me the forest is incredible, wonderful and magical place and is worth more than any amount of money.

Putting Up the Birdhouse

Putting Up the Birdhouse illustration Inkscape

Late winter to early spring is the best time of year to put up a birdhouse or nest shelf. March is the perfect time for that. But birds nest all summer long, and usually make a new nest for each brood. So if you didn’t get your houses up in March, you can still put them up later in the year. 🙂 You can read about some basic rules to follow when you putting up bird houses for several common backyard birds here.

Spring is wonderful season, isn’t it? 🙂

Sparkle Lips

Sparkle Lips illustration

When I was child I drew almost every day. Usually I drew girls. I remember they had very big eyes, abnormally thin necks and no shoulders at all. 😀 But then there was a big pause in drawing, until I discovered digital drawing. But recently I’ve been missing traditional drawing. And when I got one very nice notebook for last Christmas, I decided to fill it with drawings. So, today I picked up traditional pencil again and drew a traditional drawing but then added a little sparkle with Inkscape. 🙂
